in Uppermill Square outside the Commercial Hotel, the annual
Whit Friday procession is well under way.
The local Church members and Clergy can
be seen marching through all the Saddleworth area villages with
their villages Brass Band accompanying them.
Banners with poles and ribbons
supporting them are paraded proudly displaying their village
churches motif and name.
The sunny weather held till the
afternoon and then heavy showers poured down but failed to spoil
the day for those who attended. |
